Election Fatigue

Election Fatigue

The 2016 presidential election will probably go down in history as one of the most, contentious, childish, elections in American history. Clinton versus Trump. Like we did with electing our first black president, Barack Obama, this country could finally break new ground by electing its first woman president. Hillary is not perfect. None of us are. There are some things in her past (professional and personal) that I have had to come to terms with. But, she has the most political experience than any US presidential candidate, ever.

Or we could go tumbling down the rabbit hole and elect a narcissistic, megalomaniac who has no real regard for women, Blacks, Mexicans, Muslims, the environment, the poor, you and me, your mama and your cousin too, the list could go on and on. Trump acts he's running for King of the Universe. The New York Times published a list of every person, place and thing he has insulted on Twitter since announcing his candidacy:

I have a really hard time accepting that in this year of our Lord, 2016, there are still so many battles to fight. Racism. Sexism. Classism. Homophobia. Xenophobia. Anti-Semitism. I mean, really people? I am simply amazed that in this day and age, after all that history teaches us, we just can't seem to live and let live. In spite of having the latest technology that places all the information in the universe in the palm of your hands, google still can't get people to be kind, treat each other with empathy and respect and play nicely.  (I used to think that google could do anything.)

I'm still optimistic, though. I still think there is more good in the world than bad. I believe America is already great.
